サンティアゴ・デ・コンポステーラの巡礼事務所は、コンポステーラ（巡礼証明書）を発行した巡礼者統計を発表しています。わたしが歩いた９月の巡礼者統計は、以下のようでした。わたしがカウントされている欄は、黄色で表示しました。
During the month of September 2013 30.896 pilgrims were received at the Pilgrims’ Office. The number of pilgrims in the past Holy Year, 2010, during the same period was 36.870. Of those pilgrims, 14.517 (46,99%) were women and 16.379 (53,01%) men. 26.770 (86,65%) pilgrims arrived on foot, 4.001 (12,95%) by Bicycle, 119 (0,39%) on horseback, and 6 (0,02%) pilgrims on wheelchair.
９月には３万900人近くが巡礼しました。毎日千人ほどが、サンティアゴ・デ・コンポステーラに到着していた計算です。
自転車にはたくさん抜かされましたが、騎馬巡礼には出くわしませんでした。車いすも６人とは、すごいです。
Pilgrims’ Age:
7.017 pilgrims were younger than 30 years old (22,71%), 17.780 were between 30 and 60 years old (57,55%), and 6.099 were aged above 60 years old (19,74%).
60歳以上も20％に達してました。わたしも年齢を感じることはありませんでした。
Pilgrims’ Motivation:
Religious: 12.482 (40,40%)
Religious and Cultural: 16.978 (54,95%)
Cultural: 1.436 (4,65%).
わたしはクリスチャンでありませんが、門戸は開かれてました。
Pilgrims’ Nationality:
Spanish: 14.547 (47,08%);
Foreigners: 16.349 (52,92%); Most of the pilgrims come from the following countries: Alemania, with 2.614 (15,99%); Italia, with 1.846 (11,29%); Estados Unidos, with 1.378 (8,43%); Portugal, with 1.269 (7,76%); Francia, with 1.225 (7,49%); Irlanda, with 1.038 (6,35%); Reino Unido, with 738 (4,51%); Australia, with 566 (3,46%); etc.
Japanは「etc」でひとくくりの存在です。200人にも満たないはずです。
Pilgrims’ Profession:
Regarding the professional fields, the majority of pilgrims are Empleados: 7.983 (25,84%); Jubilados: 4.528 (14,66%); Estudiantes: 4.067 (13,16%); Tecnicos: 4.020 (13,01%); Liberales: 3.730 (12,07%); Funcionarios: 1.820 (5,89%); Profesores: 1.279 (4,14%); Obreros: 821 (2,66%); Parados: 740 (2,40%); Amas de Casa: 739 (2,39%); Directivos: 436 (1,41%); Artistas: 292 (0,95%); Sacerdotes: 163 (0,53%); Agricultores: 120 (0,39%); Religiosas: 68 (0,22%); Marinos: 46 (0,15%); Deportistas: 39 (0,13%); Oikoten: 5 (0,02%); etc.
Jubilados（retired）も多いですね。時間がありますから。

スタート地点は、わたしも歩き始めたサリアが25％に達してます。ゴールのサンティアゴ・デ・コンポステーラまで100キロ超の町だからです。徒歩で100キロ以上巡礼すると、コンポステーラ（巡礼証明書）がいただけます。
２番目に多いのは、ピレネー山脈のフランス側にある町、サン・ジャン・ピエト・ポートです。次はここから歩きたいです。

フランスの道が、やはりポピュラーです。
